Tootsie Roll Commercial- 1969

From the beginning of this commercial it becomes apparent to the viewer that its target audience is young children. How do we know this? We can gather this from the bright colours and cartoon animals. This advert in particular, in my eyes, is very clever as its purpose is to make people want to buy the product and it does exactly that in a unique way. The advert consists of a young child asking various animated animals ‘how many licks of a tootsie pop does it take to get to the centre?’. None of the animals know as they say they cannot get to it without biting through. This may seem like a wacky sketch, but what it does is encourages people to find out, like a challenge. People will see this and see if they can get to the centre without biting.

Interview questions
·      -  What is there activity-wise for the youth to do?
·       - On an average day, taking out college, what would you do for leisure?
·        -How accessible are jobs for people of your age group?
·        -Would you say this has an impact on the local area? If so how?

Prime Locations
·       - Gorleston High Street
·        -College
·        -A Small Business

Known Activities
·        -Parks/Skate parks
·        -Computers/Gaming

Effects on Area
·        Vandalism/Graffiti
·        High Crime Rate
·        Drug Use
·        Lack of Jobs for Youth
Plan
Have an opening shot that includes visual signs of crime rate, such as graffiti. Then say a few words about what the documentary is about and how you will display your points. Statistics must be included such as crime rate. Interview a member of the rural youth community and a local small business owner.

In May 2016 there were 412 accounts of ASBO’s in Great Yarmouth. That’s around 13 in one day

TV DOCUMENTARY EVALUATION.

On this task I decided to work independently so i could focus on reflecting what i have learnt and what i have improved on. i decided to focus my documentary o life of people in coastal areas. i believe i included all of the briefs we were set to cover, such as interviews and commentary.
The thing that makes this documentary look professional is the statistics included and the shot types.
In terms of what went well, i was proud of the shot types taken and the editing of the documentary, especially the text appearing. i was also impressed with the way i constructed the interviews in a professional manor.
There were some imperfections in my film, such as the soundtrack, in my opinion, does not match the theme as well as it could. if i could do it again i would also choose a different font, as i believe the one i chose looks unprofessional.
if i were to improve i would also do some more pre planning, as i thought i was taking to long to thing of a subject so i chose one at random.

Pot Noodle Ad Evaluation

In our film we decided to create an advert for the brand Pot Noodle. We made it appeal to the middle-class business man, rather than the official adverts normally targeted to the lower-class. We aimed to achieve this by rather than Pot Noodles normal adverts including working class people, we had an office worker instead. in some ways we stuck with the pot noodle style adverts by including a comical aspect to it. The plot of the advert is a business man running late for work and seeks a quick and convenient snack. i believe we achieved our goal of appealing to this audience whilst sticking to the focus of the advert.
In terms of improvement, i would have liked to have a bit more pre-shot planning as i believe that some shots look almost rushed, such as the one of the character running through the door.
